Free Download Media Player 12 for XP/Vista

Win 7 has not officially launched yet but recently it got leaked and was available for download as Win7 torrent ISO file everywhere on the internet. If you don’t know Win 7 comes with the latest version of Windows Media Player (WMP) 12.

Some smart guys at Deviant Art have extracted the Windows Media Player 12.0.7000 from Win7 build 7000 / 7004 and have made it to work for Windows Vista and XP. Though we are not sure about XP as the Aero Theme is not present in it but the media player will run on Vista.


Step by Step installation -
1. Download Windows Media Player 12 from Deviantart.
2. Extract the .rar file using Winzip or Winrar.
3. Make a restore point using System restore in Vista/XP
4. Copy wmploc.dll file in C:\Windows\System32 (backup old file first)
5. Copy Windows Media Player folder to C:\Program Files (backup old folder)
6. Run the player, it should work now.
Recently, a guy from Deviantart was able to extract Brilliant Black Aero theme for Windows Media player and now again it is latest WMP 12.
