Alicia gets involved in an ethical scandal, and risks disbarment and could also ruin Peter's political campaign. Meanwhile, a third candidate is revealed for state's attorney.

A USB drive containing recordings of Alicia's deposition of Childs somehow ends up leaked to the press, which leads Alicia to getting threatened with disbarment. The judge accuses Alicia of releasing the footage, which Alicia of course denies. Alicia takes questions from Cary, and he gets her to admit that she and Peter shared info about a case they worked on together. If Alicia admitted to Peter's breach of confidence, this gives Childs a better chance for becoming state attorney.

Will informs Alicia that she has to answer Cary's questions as truthfully as she can, even if it might hurt Peter's campaign. But then, when Cary is about to ask the relevant question in course, Will vaguely threatens Cary about something he has on Childs. This causes Cary to back off, though Alicia has no idea what Will would have on Childs.
