The TARDIS brings its crew to a quarantine facility for victims of an alien plague. When Amy is trapped, Rory must rescue her from the facility's doctors but learns something surprising about his wife.

Doctor Who - The Girl Who Waited

The Doctor pilots the TARDIS to Appalapachia, the second top tourist spot in the universe. However, they end up in a plain white room with a single door, with two buttons, a green waterfall and a red anchor. While Amy goes back into the TARDIS for her mobile phone, Rory and the Doctor push the green button and enter the room beyond. It contains a table with a large magnifying-glass object on a table. As they examine it, the door closes behind them.

When Amy comes out, she yells for them and Rory tells her to push the button. She pushes the red button instead and enters a room just like the one that her friends are in. Meanwhile, Rory looks out but doesn't see any sign of her. The Doctor examines the lens and brings up an image of Amy in the other room, which is identical to theirs. A white robot teleports into their room and welcomes them to the Two Streams Facility. The lens grows staticky and the Doctor realizes that time is going wobbley. Meanwhile, the robot advances on Rory, raising its human hands. The Doctor gets the image back on the lens and Amy asks them what they've been doing for the last week. The Doctor realizes that time is flowing faster in her room than theirs. He examines the hand-bot and tells Rory that it "sees" through its hands....
