The residents of Wisteria Lane are stunned to discover that Paul Young is out of prison and back in the neighborhood with an enigmatic new wife (guest star Emily Bergl) and seemingly dark motives. Meanwhile, while Paul is renting Susan's home, she, Mike and MJ are living in an apartment on limited funds... However, Susan sees a glimmer of hope in getting her life back on the Lane when she's offered an unorthodox job by her apartment manager, Maxine (guest star Lainie Kazan). Lynette's rich and successful college friend, Renee (new castmember Vanessa Williams), pays an unexpected visit to the Scavo household, whereas Gabrielle and Carlos find themselves keeping secrets from one another, and Bree, newly single and needing a fresh start after handing out her business, finds herself tempted by Keith (guest star Brian Austin Green), the handsome, young handyman she's hired to update her house.
About ten years ago, on a sunny day, in the loveliest of suburbs, in a town called Fairview, housewife Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) decided to end it all. Now she takes us into the lives of her friends, family and neighbors, introducing us to their relationships, their problems, and their choices...
Her circle of girlfriends on Wisteria Lane includes Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), a known klutz who recently moved away from her home due to financial situations; Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), who has just given birth to a fifth child; Bree Hodge (Marcia Cross), whose complicated life erupted once she lost her catering company to blackmail and her husband walked out on her; the ex-model turned housewife Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker), who finds herself chasing after two daughters and now dealing with a huge secret she's been told. The ladies now welcome their new neighbor, Renee Perry (Vanessa Williams), a former college roommate of Lynette's, who is sure to shake things up on the street.
