“Private Practice” stars Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery, Tim Daly as Dr. Pete Wilder, Audra McDonald as Dr. Naomi Bennett, Paul Adelstein as Dr. Cooper Freedman, KaDee Strickland as Dr. Charlotte King, Brian Benben as Dr. Sheldon Wallace and Caterina Scorsone as Dr. Amelia Shepherd, with Taye Diggs as Dr. Sam Bennett and Amy Brenneman as Dr. Violet Turner.

Private Practice is a spin-off of the highly popular ABC series, Grey's Anatomy starring Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery, a renowned neonatal surgeon. After realizing that her life isn't advancing at Seattle Grace, Addison packs her bags and heads off to Santa Monica to start a new… More life. She reunites with her newly divorced med school friends, Naomi (Audra McDonald) and Sam (Taye Diggs), and joins them in their chic private practice.

The man responsible for Dell's death visits the clinic where Sam must put aside his feelings and treat the man's heart condition. Pete's decision to volunteer at a friend's clinic results in risking a patient's life. Addison's new romance isn't welcome news.

Pete finds out that one of his old friends from the army is running a private clinic out of his house, even going so far as to perform surgery in a room in the back. When Pete explains it to Violet, she wonders whether his friend as a God complex and wants to have some control over a bad situation. When a girl is shot and is taken to the clinic, Pete realizes that his friend will not be able to help her in his house. He decides to make the 911 call. Pete doesn't call the cops on his friend just yet, but if he finds out that another clinic has been set up, Pete promises that he will. Pete realizes that he really wants to help people, so Violet suggests that he be able to take a few shifts in the emergency room at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the drunk driver responsible for killing Dell and hurting Mia arrives at Oceanside. He has come to apologize but Sam doesn't waste any time in trying to choke the man to death. The attack causes the man to go into cardiac arrest, but Sam doesn't seem like he cares very much.
