THE VAMPIRE DIARIES Series “Plan B” Season 2 Episode 6 – KATHERINE CHOOSES A NEW VICTIM — Despite Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) efforts to keep Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) safe, he offers to help Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) deal with Katherine (Nina Dobrev). Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) and Caroline (Candice Accola) share a few rare moments of quality mother/daughter time. Bonnie (Katerina Graham) accidentally discovers new information about Mason (guest star Taylor Kinney) and shares it with Stefan (Paul Wesley), leading Damon to take matters into his own hands. Sara Canning and Zach Roerig also star. John Behring directed the episode written by Elizabeth Craft and Sara Fain. Jeremy offers to help Alaric and Damon deal with Katherine, despite Elena's concerns about Jeremy's safety. Caroline and her mother share some rare quality time together. When Bonnie learns some new information about Mason, she decides to share it with Stefan, which leads to Damon taking action on his own.

It is Historical Society Volunteer Day in Mystic Falls. Stefan tries to make peace with Mason. Despite a somewhat reconcilable conversation, it is obvious that Mason is still out for Damon. Mason questions Caroline's Mom, Liz, but she says she does not know anything about a "secret council." To try and get more information, Mason tells Liz that Damon and Stefan are vampires, but Liz has a hard time believing this.

Stefan and Elena continue making everyone making everyone think that they are in a fight. Caroline believes this, but Damon does not. Damon drinks some lemonade and topples over. It turns out that Mason had spiked it with vervain. Liz watches everything go down and calls for backup. As she leaves, Caroline confronts her. Caroline sees how distressed Liz is and becomes curious. Caroline decides to eavesdrop on her mother's surroundings.
